Our promise

Who is responsible for your data

AXOL VENTURES LLC (United States), which operates Purple Personality, is the controller of your personal data. For any privacy question or request, contact support@purplepersonality.com.

What we collect

• Account details — when you sign in with Google, we receive your email address, name, and profile picture.
• Birth details — the name, sex, and the date, time, and place of birth you enter, plus the approximate coordinates and time zone we look up from the place name to cast the chart.
• Your questionnaire answers (if you unlock the deep reading) — the short facts about your current life (work, money, relationship, family, home, health) and the free-written stories you choose to share. Some of this can be sensitive (for example about health or relationships); you decide what to write, and we use it only to personalise your reading.
• Payment information — handled by Stripe. We receive a confirmation that you paid; we never receive or store your full card number.
• Usage data — with your consent, basic analytics about how the Service is used (pages, actions, approximate device and browser). You control this through the cookie banner.

Why we use it, and our legal bases

• To create, show, and store your reading — because it's necessary to provide what you asked for (performance of a contract).
• To process the more personal answers in the deep questionnaire — on the basis of your explicit consent, given when you choose to share them.
• To run, secure, and improve the Service and prevent abuse — our legitimate interests.
• For analytics and any non-essential cookies — only with your consent.

How your reading is generated (AI)

To write your reading, we send your birth-chart data and questionnaire answers to our AI provider, Anthropic, through its secure API, which returns the written reading to us. Anthropic processes this to generate your text and, under its commercial API terms, does not use it to train its models. We don't use your answers to train any model either.

Who helps us run the Service

We rely on a small set of trusted providers ("processors") who handle data only on our instructions:

• Vercel — hosting and delivery of the website (USA).
• Neon — the database that stores your chart and reading (hosted in the EU, Frankfurt).
• Stripe — payment processing (USA).
• Anthropic — AI generation of your reading (USA).
• Google — sign-in, and (with consent) Google Analytics (USA).
• PostHog — product analytics, used only with consent.
• Open-Meteo — looks up coordinates for the birthplace you enter; receives only the place name.

We do not share your data with anyone for their own marketing or advertising.

International transfers

Some of our providers are based in the United States, so your data may be processed there. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards — such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework — to protect it.

Cookies and analytics

We use a few necessary cookies to make the site work (for example to keep you signed in) and, only if you agree, analytics cookies to understand how the Service is used. You choose when you first arrive, and you can change your mind any time via the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer.

How long we keep it

We keep your chart, reading, and answers for as long as your account exists, so your reading is there when you come back. When you delete your chart or account, we delete the associated personal data. We may keep limited records we're legally required to keep (for example basic payment records).

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have rights over your data — and we honour them for everyone:

• access a copy of your data;
• correct it if it's wrong;
• delete it (you can do this yourself from your account menu);
• receive it in a portable form;
• object to or restrict certain processing;
• withdraw consent at any time, without affecting what came before.

To exercise any of these, email support@purplepersonality.com. If you're in the EU, EEA, or UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

Purple Personality is for adults (18+) and is not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect data from children.

Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit, access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers. No service can promise perfect security, but we take it seriously and work only with providers who do too.

Changes

If we update this policy we'll change the date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the Service.
